Application Herald: Help?

Liadon, Just apply, short simple one or two paragraphs. At this point you have already earned entry. The final step to joining a cabal via application is more of a minor hiccup than the epic thesis your making it out to be.

your overcomplicating things.

Absolutely agree with Kyz.

The funny thing is that we are into page three of helping her out and have not had a single reply by an actual Herald.

That said, as a former Herald L, I can asure you of the validity of my advice.

IN-GAME my character is always keeping a journal, it's my excuse to stop playing for a bit remain in game and write down everything I need to remember (names of people, places, things I can gate too...) everything.

I have a VERY elaborate background for my character and I'm always thinking of way to expand on it and elaborate it more.

Which is another problem I'm having, I'm not too sure how creative I can get with Liadon's history...

Spend less time thinking of a creative history and more time thinking of creative ways to stay alive

co 'gate'

There isn't a creative way to do that other than just doing it.

Your chances are better to gate to a low level mob. Find one in each area. Second find one you can summon to a place you feel safe and keep it there.

Yes, but the point is to learn to escape without the help of gate.

That's for other classes.

She who does not use all resources (gate being the best when it's available) to get away is a fool.

Keep using that Gate. You'll give PK'ers fits when they can't get you.

Why wouldn't I use gate? It puts distance between myself and my attacker.

Because gate spoils one.

Because there are times when you won't be able to gate, knowing how to run and learning areas/paths well enough that you can do them while blind is very helpful. My first character was a healer and I thought I was invincible until I pinned and ran into my first shaman. Trust me, learn ways to survive while not being able to commune.

It'll also be helpful for when you decide to try another class.

They do not want you to use gate so that you will hang around long enough for them to blasphemy you. Gate if you can, RLH if you can not. Thats the only choice you have as a Herald wanna be. For the record, gate is the fastest way to Pinn a Healer. Hunting only slows you down. At guild get an easy quest, complete and repeat. I can pinn a healer in just over a day without fighting which is good since I am a fan of the Tranquility religion.

You're definitely an old timer.

COMPASSION RULES!

Slowly yet surely I'm learning the layout of all the different places and I never thought of a Shaman's ability to take away Commune.... There's a lot out there that can get Liadon screwed over hardcore.

And what I realized... at higher levels, hunting as a Healer is a DUMB IDEA!

I got killed by a centaur after he smashed my weapon out of my hand...

Which is irritating BTW.

LoL

Healers have little damage output versus most mobs. It's a battle of attrition aka I have the HEAL spell and ability to get distance FAST while using little to no movement.

As for you being disarmed, I've noticed that

A) You don't notice it very often.

When you're told about it, you're incredibly slow to pick it up and wield it.

Type faster.

Liadon. I have also hunted with you on several characters

You definitely need to work on your speed when it comes to things happening in combat. IE, being disarmed, allies needing healing or sanctuary, sleeping right before the hour passes to do as we call "catching a tick" etc...

While a Herald Healer is a great character for stimulating RP, it is not gong to help you learn to pk much at all. And as some people pointed out, gate will spoil you when it comes to learning how to get around on foot. You will get used to gating around and having near pk immunity. Then some nasty syndicate will come along and ruin your day. Blasphemy is not the only thing that prevents gating, and there are many ways to blind people in this game.

You are still very new so do not be discouraged! You are doing great, but you might want to think about having an evil melee/rogue on the side to keep your combat prowess coming along too. A throwaway character that you can die learning on. From what I've seen I bet a side project for you would still be very well rped, but it would give you a chance to work on the part of you game that is less developed (if you desire more than being great at RPer that is).

Oh for sure! I definitely need to work on my speed on noticing things.

And I apologize to any of you that have waited on me as the player to "catch-up". I'm not that fast of a learner and I've been lucky so far as for not being the target of much hostility.

I'm sure there are a few players that would get off beating up on a new player, and a female, AND an innocent character.

Anyways...

As for picking stuff up is there a way to pick your weapon back up when you're blinded? Because if there is I'd like to know...

That's the only reason I don't just pick my weapon back up when I'm disarmed.

You weren't blind when I was hunting with you. I waited four rounds, picked up your staff, and handed it back to you.

If I wasn't the alignment I am, I would have put you over my knee and spanked you with it!

I know you're working on it, Valek. Still creeper though.
