Clerics are an attrition class. I've never lost to a cleric who didn'tflee to heal.the only thing that makes clerics a problem is they are lagproof. Which I personally think is Bs clerics have good output good heals curatives and a lag spell. Wtf do they need to be lagproof for?
How to kill a Cleric. SECRET
From my experiance, its supremely easy to save the lag spell now...less then half the people I have fought are actually lagged by sermon, or so it seems, and the mana drain is nothing like it was a year and a half ago, just my opinion though, but I believe I had a great deal more success with the second to last cleric I played then the most recent one.

No it's not.
And the spell still lasts A LONG time. And it still lands through your saves. And it still stops your mana regeneration for a LONG time and if it is successful it not only lags you for a LONG time but also drains mana.

The real question is why are you trying to lag a cleric when you should be focusing on: Weapon choices, herb use, skill use, catching ticks, and timing for prot shield to fall. Dont expect prot shield is down, but get det magic so you can see when that **** is gonna fall.
'With my recent multiple steam rollings from an evil cleric. What is actually useful vs a cleric? As a neutral warrior, what kind of gear can I get that has... mental, aff, or mal saves? Which do I really need?
Just want to say that ray/path ARE........
.....drumroll.........
Mental spells.

Sorry Egreir, you are wrong.
Path and Ray are both Afflective for the damage, and Mal for the maledictive affects, blind, poison, etc.
I'll double check the code, but rather sure the damage is listed as mental.

Think the code you are looking at is outdated--I had confirmation from zho that it is not mental
Forget the code. Interpreting that thing can be difficult, and erroneous due to updates.
Just get a naked human something. Dress up in 50 Mentals and ask some Evil cleric to Path you to death.
Dress up in 50 aff and ask him again.
Then dress up in 50 mal and taunt him again.
Now look at the logs. If you are a human being you will learn something very interesting and probably more than you suspected.

Why dress in AFF? It's a cleric, not a warrior.
So your solution to killing an evil cleric, is suit up one of the weakest warriors, and ask him to kill you?
Ah. This is the mya we all know, and love. Back to crazy.

This was Mya's solution to finding out what saves against path....
Very heavy burst damage + disruption is about the only way to force a kill on a well-played cleric. That means neutral feral ranger...
But I think it is best to rob them blind as a thief and let them wish they died.
Necromantic resurrection.
You all doubters can read my signature and weep. ![]()
'PATH OF DECEIT'
syntax: commune 'path of deceit'
As the deceit of an evil cleric passes forth, a powerful evil aura
surrounds the target suffocating them in the evil of the caster.
The more sinister and evil the cleric's past, the more powerful
is the resulting effect.
'RAY OF TRUTH'
syntax: commune 'ray of truth'
As the truth of targets trespasses strikes home, the victim will feel
great remorse and pain for all his wrongdoings. This pain and remorse
from his past, is the source of the power in the clerics ray of light.
Lets not forget here that also, when the dmg peaks is when the prayers attempt a malediction from what I've seen.
Example being:
Your paths/rays are doing MASSACRES through sanc with no firing of the maledictions.
All of a sudden you hit a DEMOLISHES and the maledictions fire off.
This is based on a conclusion of watching the spells when using them and having them used against me.
You're half right ![]()
I can say that with sagristus I have landed 0 kills, but have remained extremely hard to kill. that is there purpose for people just like me.
