aren't giants supposed to be able to dual wield two-handed weapons?
giants
no, than can wield any two handed in one handed, but only minotaurs can dual wield 2 two handers (axes)
For example:
Fg one has a heavy one handed primary, and a two handed secondary. As long as the two handed is lighter than the primary you can wield it (Think those rangers that dual Rokujan/arctron. Roku is a dagger, arc is a 2 handed exotic)
You can also prime a two hander, and dual a one hander.
oh neat, thanks for the tip. that explains a lot.
two hander in the offhand SB. so when your disarmed you do not lose "two handed"

Have you done that recently?
Lytholm.
You can dual wield a 2h weapon if it is lighter than the primary 1h weapon...
Used to be able to at least, unless its been changed. It was completely stupid in some instances and completely nullifies the 'downsides' of some high power weapons (ie, they generally aren't noremove).

I Have not played a giant in .... atleast 18 months, so no. It was possible at one time if the two-handed weapon was lighter. One day I learned that double grip could be used similarly with smaller warriors, if your quick. I have often wondered if blademasters can exploit their ability to switch primary to accomplish the same thing.
No, you can still do this. For example Sunblade and Spear of craving. You HAVE to prime sunblade, and dual spear, but spear is 2 handed. You get disarmed, you immediately go to spear of craving WITH two handed bonuses. I will get a log of this if you need it Lytholm.

Perhaps I should explain. If I am blind and disarmed of my primary weapon, my two handed secondary weapon keeps me from losing that valued third defence. Doublegripping your off handed weapon instantly when disarmed makes it a "two-handed" weapon.

What is the problem with that really? You are wielding 1 two handed weapon now, so you should be using the two handed bonuses... I don't get your point.
There was a bug fixed that allowed enlarged people to use two handed weapons even after enlarge goes off, so for example, an enlarged duergar could use the soul forge in first hand and rod of stars in second until he sheats and draws again. Now this has been changed though.

I think what they're trying to say is that their dual wielding the two-hander that is lighter than their primary, and when that primary is disarmed, they now get to maintain the same number of defenses as they are now wielding one two-hander. I don't think they're saying that when the two hander gets disarmed they get to keep the two handed bonus.

You mean they're, not their? On point - that's what I said, didn't I?
"You are wielding 1 two handed weapon now, so you should be using the two handed bonuses."
No matter in what you are wielding in which hand, if you wield ONE TWO HANDED weapon you SHOULD get the bonuses which wielding one two handed gives.

makes perfect sense to me. thanks for the explanations everyone.

Firebrand spear, fiery dagger.
Check it if you think I'm wrong ![]()
We still on that subject? What are we bitching about now? That someone who uses a two handed weapon gets two handed bonuses? ![]()
Just about any weapon can be a two handed weapon if it is doublegripped anyway...

I don't understand... you can double grip only two handed weapons?
No, I mean you can doublegrip one handed weapons, and then block with them as if they were two-handed. So warriors don't really lose a defense when dual wielding and disarmed, if they doublegrip.
Depends on what kind of weapon it is if its one-handed, as to whether or not you can double grip it. Try double gripping one-handed exotics and daggers.
