And that's why you're both not good at PK -- you're making no effort to rise up to the occasion and take advantage of what others do to become better.
Bug abuse?
Good burn? Anyone...don't leave me hanging! holds up his fist and waits on the dap

Haha' date=' and people made such a big fuss over highlighting. I just type the words out, no wonder I'm not good at PK. :/[/quote']
Same here. Typers unite. As long as you don't misstype and don't smoke the wrong leaves all the time like some ranger I know, you'll do ok in PK.
I don't believe you, Hitandrun. You chase like a god, and there's absolutely no way you don't use micros. I'm fast as HELL in my opinion, and the fights we had with Virarc and Nyra, you were, MOST of the time, outrunning me and being an over all PAIN IN MY A$$.
However, I'm sure most of it had to do with my piece of crap connection. But still, I had macros set up and spamming them, and you'd still get the first hit in.
Don't lie brother. ![]()
H&R just uses one letter aliases for everything, its funny when he hits the wrong one though. ![]()

Its like training for Teeball and taking a fast ball to the eye your first time up to bat!
Psssh, I play in the raw. I make alot of typos. They don't usually cause me to lose though, just cause me not to win. Ie, you misstype "lag skill" and they get to flee at awful.
Funny how the two of the best chasers don't use macros for chasing ![]()
Now we just need Mindflayer posting he doesn't use chasing macros as well and well... ![]()
Macros give you the false impression that you are a good chaser. I've found the typers are much faster. It is the same with myself and Nomak. While I use a whole array of trigger/macros/aliases he uses nothing. Not even highlight alliases. No triggers, no macros and he chases much better than I.
I believe that the reason is that scrips make you lazy. Usually when I play, I am almost in a laid down position pressing a button or two, while the typers would be literally standing next to their keyboard trying to fiercly destroy it.
Back when we were young we played from an i-cafe which was devided in 3 rooms. Sometimes myself and Nomak would be sitting in different rooms and I could hear him typing on the keyboard from the other room ![]()
ctrl+c/ctrl+v ftw.

Zhokril, if you look a couple posts above, thwarts what Hitandrun said and tells the truth. He uses 1 letter aliases.

I'm positive he uses macros and highlight triggers.

LOL. I used telnet for about 3 years (since I was all over the place and didn't really.. have a computer of my own, and found all the clients I tried to use sucked at the time.) and did very well. I use macros/aliases now, and I do just the same.

Agreed. I don't use scripts. I won't ever use scripts. And I am usually laying down when I play.. and do better than sitting up, imho.

o_O....
ctrl+c/ctrl+v ftw.
One letter aliases are nothing compared to the scripts K. was giving.
Hell, we even have a built in system in FL that allows this ![]()
It's far, VERY far from some of the more complexed scrips I've seen.
A macro doesn't necessarily mean a script - or at least the way I'm describing it. I consider my little alias set a 'macro', since it's complex and has two parts to complete one small thing: easy targeting.
So, I know the people listed do not use scripts. I don't. I use highlights, and aliases. I use two triggers (two of which will never get me killed, and are passive) and I'm sure a few of the other 'elites' you listed do as well - maybe even more.
But yeah, the alias system FL provides is too simple for my tastes. I would like to be able to just tap f2 and have it do something, not have to do: f2 .
Anyways ![]()

lol, stop watching me :/
Yeah, I figured the in-built alias system didn't count as macros. I mean I still type whe, sca, n, s, e, etc and press enter after every command.
So do I. But you do it so fast.. I had believed you used numpad (like all the other elites here).
Like I said though, that can definitely depend in my crappy connection I've been on since January.
Well, I don't know where you keep your fingers on the keyboard, but I have my little finger constantly over the enter button when I run/chase.
Same! I still use nswe and enter, but thank god my client keeps the last command in the command box. I also always set aliases every fight for my shaman battles as Dzrilx, Perniciant and Koortu. Logs include mid-fight...
alias j co curs whoever

alias k co blind whoever

alias y co dysen whoever

I play on a laptop, I don't even have a num pad.
One letter bindings are the way to go - the only tricky part (which someone has solved for you) is rebinding the aliases for each target. A script will do it for you which you can then assign to a single 'macro' key (such as a F-key).
As much as some of you cry foul there isn't anything wrong with this. I can tell you from experience mis-spelling a necro's name three times and getting slept death (not I wasn't using poison at the time) sucks.
I use NEWSUP as well as enter (don't use the numpad) but I can touch type with quite some speed. I don't always setup the scripts etc (I haven't got them set on my current characters) as I know I can fight perfectly well at about 90% efficiency without it. When I start actively fighting cabal wars against stronger characters I get more motivated to fine tune my setup.
If you want to get better learn to touch type.
After this the best thing you can do depends on what goes wrong. If you're targeting fine without one letter binds that's fine. One letter binds are faster and 'fat fingers' don't play so much of an issue when you're both as 2hp.
Memorise the directions on places you run - for me I ALWAYS moving. Town, to town, to town, to gold, to consumables, to weapons, to town, to wherever. No thieves or ninja's getting a free ride from me. If you do this over and over and invest some effort you can know your way FAST (almost automatically). Then when you're on the run (either from or after someone) you just hammer in the directions and use where.
As with everything practice, practice, practice. It comes in time. Also, if you setup for a class or character you're habits become ingrained over time eg checking spells, eq, consumes, consume alias bindings and setup and so on. The more you play the more 'in tune' you are with the setup - much like setting up your car's setting for max speed around the race track. This is why when you' have 50, 100, 200+ hours of PK experience on a character you are a lot better than say....2 hours. Some of this is negated by experience over time and the same setups, some of it is not. I believe it takes time to adjust to a new class/character when you really get rolling at 50 - more experienced players just do it faster.

Aliases are kinda meh in my mind...there is a reason they are available in the game's system. Using an external alias system is like third party hacking an FPS in my mind. Using triggers on the other hand is COMPLETELY screwed in my mind...that is basically aimbot for a MUD.

Trigger the unpredictable. Trigger the un-spellkillable. You can become an uncounterable aimbot, I promise you.
