Just wanted to give a public cry of thanks to Dey for inspiring me to do my own identify list. Found things that I could take by myself that I was like...holy crap. I'm now more decked than I've probably ever been, just because of that. I'll probably lose it soon, but still...I know where and how to get it whenever I want, now.
Thanks Dey
So far I have identified about 850 legit items. I'm just slow... ![]()
Holy Crap. I don't plan on iding everything, just rares I can find and get easily.
muwahahaha, ive never bothered to paste it into a word file but I can probably regurgitate 850+ items and what they do, how to find em and how much power you gunna need to kill the mob to get em
lol go uber memory
Yeah, I think a big part is just me going there and doing it myself, after which I'll remember it no problem. The big is to find the ones that will be useful for other characters.
I definently know a lot more about what items to combine for highest saves and hit/dam possible, after playing my Savant Healer.
For anyone who has two hundred hours to be bored out of your mind, and solo mobs just as an excuse to set foot outside of your cabal... roll up a Savant healer.
Savant Healer? So what you're saying is, you take the time to gather all that lovely EQ and then it ends there - once you have it, you can use that godly equipment to drink tea that little bit better than the rest of the masses, right? ![]()
IMO Gnome Battlemage is the perfect EQ identify class, RP permitting. Namely because they are brilliant for EQ-gathering, but also a lot of fun to PK with, making you want to stick out with the character which in turn will let you ID more. Of course, saying Gnome BMG is fun to play is just my own opinion.
Dey
So i deduct that your did not move around eatch area killing anything to id the eq and make a full list ?
You are missing a lot. There are a lot of low profile common items that are almost or better than rares.
Everytime i learn of a new area, i log on my halfling healer and there i go razing the hole area to id them.
And in my opinion the Halfling healer is one of the best, exploring character.
1 prac for all gives extra HP.
Magic resistence is good, especialy coupled with high DEX armor.
Low STR does not afect anything.
Divine intervention complements some weakness.
Halflings take two practices, not one. And lows STR can affect plenty of things, namely what weapons you can wield.

Halfling Healers' low strength means that they can only carry small cups and teapots with them. A considerable dent in their arsenal that can make a Halfling Healer pointless to play.
Dey
yes, and if a storm healer comes to a halfers teapart, it will take three halfer teapots to fill the stormy's cup. that means you cannot invite stormy healers to your tea parties, unless you got plenty of teapots, which you cannot have, due to low str. so halfing healers are underpowered.
Am I the only one who's able to use basic math skills to ID things just by watching how it changes your score sheet and skill percentages? Melees work just fine for finding out what eq does. Sometimes even better, as certain armor types have bonuses to ac based on where they are worn, and IDing eq doesn't show you that.
They do? Wow, that boggles the mind.
Not if they got interesting special effects.

Ever wondered why a piece of torso armor with 10 ac when you id it gives you so much more when worn?
word, I agree with pali. I just 'score' 'rem item' score' and that does fine as to what an item does.
Of course id can still be a nice benefit. Nothing sucks worse than to try out that spiffy new item you just found, only to have it drop your stats and be noremove.
Then again. Death solves everything.
or remove curse. cost a couple of grand, but better than dying.
note...i said noremove, not cursed.
at the same time...get a nouncurse as well, and you're still stuck.
Remove curse works just fine on noremove as well as nodrop.
As for those nouncurse items... find a friendly invoker, remove everything else, have him hellstream you a few times. Works pretty well.
