Does it count as revealing your character on forum if your forum name is already the name of your character? lol.
In those cases the immortal staff will either let you change your in game name, or your forum name. And there shouldn't be that problem when in the terms and agreements it says you wont do that kind of crap anyways.
you read the terms and agreements? boggle
Regarding his previous question it happens to all of us. Sadly but suredly, there is pit theft in game constantly. People take advantage of this and steal your items before you know it. I have personally never stolen from the pit. However I have taken from corpses of battles. That is something I will constantly do. Stealing from pits should be regarded a crime as well. Maybe not though, seeing it is a "free pit" ![]()
Nothing wrong with pit-theft IMO. If I look in the pits and see items in there that obviously belong to someone else who's waiting for them there and if it's in my characters RP, I'll take them. I got OOC flak for taking a pinn's items from the pits whilst I was rank 5; all I can say is that if you're going to wait for your things to reappear in a public, open, free pit, you'd do best to be very vigiliant to ensure you get those things, else it's tough luck. If I'm ever waiting at the pits for my gear (which is only on rare occassion, when I can't get back to my gear as a ghost) I would expect anybody to take whatever from the pits, so I'm always checking the pits. If I lose my things to someone who types 'get all pit' faster then that's my own tough luck to someone who was more vigilant or faster than I.
Just my view anyway,
Dey
Personally, I never wait by my pit if I die, I go run off somewhere else so its not so obvious I'm waiting for it. Not sure what this person's situation was since its red-markered but if it was from a winter death or something then don't stand by your pit. It takes roughly 15 minutes for your corpse to decompose and bring your items back to the pit. So when you die, look at the time, wait about 13-14 minutes somewhere else then goto your pit.
If the situation regarded you teleporting away from a pk and someone else (maybe not even the person trying to pk you) grabbing your EQ, well, then, thats the game you play with teleport.
Anyone remember when looting the donation pits was against the Law?
Bet Tribunal would have fun with that.
Great. I feel another tome coming on. Thanks, Chayesh.
hell I thought it still was a crime, there be a whole heap of pit looting comin tonight. lol

Not a crime. Anything left in the pit is free for anyone to take.
lol... coughs brsingr coughs
eh.. I'm sure he's been deleted by now
he was the crazy werebeast berserker that yelled at people, pissed in the fountain, took ****s everywhere, and was a drunkard beyond help.
Not a crime. Anything left in the pit is free for anyone to take.
If someone is waiting at the pit for the eq, and someone else takes it WHILE YOU ARE THERE, you can complain and see where you get. Now if you quit out and come back, shame on you. If you simply didn't care enough, find out they didn't loot, run to the pit and it's gone. Again, boo hoo.
And by complain I mean if a triby council is on and you can get 5 other people to complain with you.
This is why I always choose non main cities as my hometown if I can. Hardly anyone is going to chance by Khorandain or the Hive when your stuff appears.
Ummm... I kinda went over the terms and Agreements cause i kinda had to :-S.
Next up! it's not a law to steal from pits... **** i would have been doing it if i didn't realize that it was not a crime.
When Marty was around he got mad cause i looted from a corpse which i just immediatley took the pit was the same way.
Oh well, more fun for me :-D
Haha! You reminded me of when I was passing thorugh val and I saw some pinned invoker's corpse lying on the ground. Marty was standing there doing Chayesh knows what. I decided to have some fun and took some choice items from the corpse. I tipped my hat to Marty and took off for dear life. That is when Marty WANTED me and did that trib-skill. I finally persuaded him into believing that one of those items was mine and the rest I'd return. He never knew the lie I was smacking his face with. Fun times. Wish despiser would roll up another char.
Pit stealing
Thanks for the replys. Guess I could make a pit stealing character. That would be his mission in life just run around all the temples typing get all like a mad man. Since its all legal right? No deletions or wanted flags.
Thanks jb5679 for the advice.
And I do remember when pit looting would earn you a wanted flag. Imagine my supprise.
I played like 5-6 years ago and just recently started my addiction again.
Guess how I equip nearly every single char from ranks 1-30, PIT stealing!! Heck, the very first thing I do when I roll a char is check all the pits in main cities. Everytime I recall I queue up a 'l in pit'. Oh the treasures you will find. Nowadays not so much it seems, but back in the day ...
Yeah, I've gotten some absurd items from the pit.
On the flip side, due to my paranoia and obsessive tendencies, I've yet to get MY things stolen from the pit, when I die somewhere that I'm not going to be able to get them back.
Pit looting = reason for one quest, IMHO.
