But that's what usually happens to thieves that don't play like thieves, or to classes in general that don't play properly.

No difference in gear matters when your tactics are bad.

On the positive side, I've seen a lot more ppl fighting WM inductees without sanc lately. Props.

I've also seen a lot more WMs not roflstomping the inductees by using sanc / stance AND cabal skills to fight them. Much better. I still think those WMs who do that should get a rp pt penalty of -10 every time they do 😉

And what about battle clan members who use sanctuary against WM inductees? Are they held to the same standards?

You ask your question like it's a decision already set in stone while Anume was joking around.

It's pretty dumb though to see a WM (especailly a gladiator or a wannabe glad) fight an inductee with sanc/stance.

Speaks a lot about the person behind the character.

Now watch the people who are going to find excuses RP justification for doing it.

I’m still of the opinion that once you finish your 10 duels for promotion, you should be autopromoted to M. Nothing like 10 hours of not being able to experience end game content or actually enjoy Pk vs your cabal enemies.

Records tend not to show those little details, so people will often try to get away with it if they can. But you're right, it does show a lot about the player.

And is there a difference between using something like stance/sanctuary and forms versus something like melee or cyclone or maybe other consumables?

It's a deciscion depending on your chars rp.

From a PK balance standpoint - no.

The only difference is in the ideology of the subcabal.

I spent 10 hours getting shit by danpher berston and decimus as an inductee. They where seeing who could stun me the fastest while I was inductee. Eating forms for unspeakable deathblows. Was super demoralizing to get stunned then have them laughing about how they stunned you so fast. Inductee period is a big factor in me not running another wm. Losing because I didn't do something is one thing, losing because I am not allowed to is a whole different kind of anxiety lol

I mean I understand maybe, as a relic of the past when people were in mithril, and a simple mistake could spell death to someone who wasn't an I vs an seasoned WM, but (I know theres reworks in eq) stats are inflated, whats really the point of no sanc ect. its just a 10 hour period of hoping you get someone who doesn't kill and loot what you may have, hoping your WM buddies fill the first challenges, and with how people are in the game now - log off dodge enemies until you get M. Its bad enough seeing decked out people avoid fights they cant steam roll, now add in the fact you cant sanc, bleh.

Getting through the 20 hour wait period is getting harder and harder for me in any cabal. Doing that in WM makes it extra discouraging.

The inductee period is very gruelling for sure,  but personally I quite like having this unique element of a power climb which grants some pretty cool character development moments like no other cabal.

I personally wouldn't mind the 20 hours at I and M, if after the 10 hours as a V you automatically get promoted to T. I mean...its still quite the investment of time to even reach it and it would allow you to better shape your character and plan what happens next.

I personally like that you don't get automatic promotion to T. Most cabals have a significant power spike at T, while still getting some neat skills up til V, so I always felt reall good about earning the Trusted rank. For me it's been recognition that I did something good, even if I did not have the pk prowess for Elder+ ranks.

Look at all that character development I just experienced... Man... Sure wish I could get that kind of awesome experience for the next 10 hours...

This is what I primarily experienced as this character and for me, I can't speak to others, this is NOT fun. I can't travel to get EQ, I can't do harder quests, I can't reliably fight my hard-coded enemies, and I have to hope people that I duel aren't going to use sanctuary or loot me when they inevitably DO win. 

The experience was me getting my shit pushed in for 10 fights then hiding far away and wait out the timer. 

I can't speak for everyone, but it's just not a fun time. The whole concept of the "trial by fire" was fantastic when there were a ton of players and not everyone was rocking a god suit, but in this era, it makes the experience suck because you can't use sanctuary/protection to lower their damage, let alone get your own god suit EQ from traveling.

I never played WM, so I can't comment about their specific situation. I would also be disheartened to be forced to fight and die over and over with no chance of even standing on equal footing until I finally getting M.

Maybe the challenges requirement is good enough for WMs to progress from Initiate, letting them use consumables all the way till they either join or don't join Gladiator subcabal?
