For those of you who keep thinking Warmaster is so OP, here is a little glimpse into how my fights with Keshan have been going.

Just wanted people to see that WM isn't as great as you all make it sound. Every knight can haste/enlarge themselves at will etc...Whereas some of us cannot even get protection from good...

I remember fighting Ivesianna and Keshan as Skree. We'd have 2-3 rounds of combat before I'd have to flee and put my weapons back on. Rinse/repeat. It wouldn't be bad if it was a lesser chance, but it fires WAY too consistently. Really fun to be on the Knight side of it though, haha.

I have an alias that I repeatedly spam to wear my weapon whenever I'm not in combat. More often than not, I need it. That disarm fires nearly every engagement. Very good and very reliable. Dangerous when combined with dirt/blinds.

A human sized berserker having the worst luck (paralyse and disarm) vs a giant sized warrior isn't indicative of Knight being overpowered or Warmaster being weak. It's just indicative of it sucking not having a weapon while being bashed by someone bigger than yourself. Still, I feel your pain. Most of my deaths on my paladin were from just getting bashed to death without being able to get out of the lock (a fair bit of them even came from Warmasters).

Now... ogres having all the racial bonuses they do is another matter entirely. Perhaps that's something to discuss.

Not saying WM is weak by any stretch of the imagination.

I just wanted people to be aware that EVERY cabal is strong. That's what a cabal does, makes your character stronger.

There has been a lot of chatter on discord lately about how OP Gladiators are, or WM in general.

While I acknowledge WM as a strong cabal I just thought it would be fair to point out other cabals are just as good in their own way.

Also, I dare ANY of you to come play a non neutral gladiator and tell me how much fun it is fighting other goods and evils...

You can get haste and protection from good. Not as easily, no. But possible. What he did to you, I've seen you do.. The exact same thing. Auto dirt, autodisarm and amegeddon slam lock/bodyslam. 

Just because you had it done to you, I don't think you should discount the fact the Wm are dominating, for a reason. Execute hits like a hellstream that can lag, fires automatically, you hit like a zerk with a haymaker that rarely misses and can't be dispelled to boot.

Only 1 super unique item from a lockbox can haste a gladiator, and it's not a guarantee. Knights can use any consumable and also enlarge themselves and their pets.

I have no way to disarm cursed weapons. This is a unique feature of the Knight autodisarm, not the WM one.

Armageddon Smash does not do as much damage as hellstream and is not guaranteed to lag.

Again, not saying WM is weak, not at all,. It is a very strong cabal, with great potential combos.

My point is that other Cabals are JUST as good.

Knights are killing it, and they only have 3 active members, they destroyed WM in the war and we have twice their numbers. We are not dominating anything.

Tribunal is also super powerful, Agmeel pretty much rapes 90% of the pbase too.

And don't talk about my haymaker lol, the entire zerk skillset is useless vs undead.

Path of Anger gets the best haymakers and I still miss all the time, landed 0/8 in my last skirmish with Ivesianna for example.

Again I have never and will never say WM is a weak cabal. I am just saying it is not better than any other cabal overall.

Gladiator is perhaps the weakest cabal out there. They can not use consumables of any kind. In return they get nice skills. But then, which cabal doesn't? So generally, they get what every cabal gets - nice skills. But Gladiators have a HUGE HUGE downside. Something that no other cabal has.

Not just that, but if you are evil/good and in Gladiator, you have an inherited disadvantage due to not being able to use protection. Protection is a small sanctuary after all.

Lastly, Gladiator's E and L skills suck balls. Compare them to any cabal's E and L skills and tell they don't.

There is no Knight cabal item / skill that enlarges anyone.

I don't think the discord chatter was aimed at WM being OP, the way I saw it was that WM is much better suited to fight Savant because of the perks they get. Compared to Savant, which doesn't really get any bonus to fighting WMs.

Yeah.. Savant is horrible.. They should get the ability to cut down affect times so stance lasts 0-1 tick and slow regen so they can't maintain stance or use forms.. That'd be cool.. Oh wait..

Well we addressed half of Savant. I mean the only subcabal that matters. :D

Heh someone said glads can't be dispelled. What is there to even dispell? They have 0 buffs. And anything that puts them to sleep kills stance so...

Savant is VERY strong. It just has few members who hardly play. Both sub cabals get skills that directly help them vs melee. Sure they also get skills that don't help vs melee.

That being said WM gets stuff that is useless vs mages. Cabal skills are not just about countering your hard coded vendetta.

Temporums have some abilities that are directly aimed at disabling and weakening gladiators from fighting. Reverse time and temporal storm are BRUTAL. Temporal storm on its own is one of the best abilities in the game.

Their cabal items are quite nice too.

Gladiators on the other hand have undispellable stance which costs a ton of mana to actiavate and drops when you go to sleep so you can't use your superior regen.

I think he missed to totally dispel me about twice in all the battles we fought. It is A LOT more reliable than any dispel. If he hits you, all is gone. I think this rate is also extremely high. I bet his chance to fully dispel me are a lot higher than the knight E cabal skill disarming him. It is definitely a lot higher than my exotic mastery disarming him, which did not work once in all those battles (not that I had that much time to try, I was mostly fleeing to resanc / put flight back on.

The damage from execute is insane considering it also messes up your ac. Other forms lag you to hell.

The fights were interesting and fun. I lost my standard twice and had to run and reset a lot till I finally got it - just - right.

 My chances to kill him without him aiming on my pet are not very high.

I never once compared it to me. I'm aware there's nothing you can do to me in that regard. I was referring it to everyone else. It's not quite a hell stream, but it's big damage... Automatic... Which lags. Or blinds, or curses... Lowers armor... Pretty much whatever you need. 

 

I was not aware that the knight skill disarmed cursed weapons, that's news to me. 

 

Maybe I'm still bitter about my last savant, I just seem to struggle with warmasters. My problem, not anyone elses

I think the dispel rate of haymaker is more like 90%, definitely more than 60%, in our battles.

Firstly, drop haste, noone cares about it as evil/good gladiator.

All those things you mentioned are either very inreliable or inconsitent and/or come from an item that is either crap, not made for your class, has limited use or generally you must be an idiot to use it as a melee (exception being the maiden hair).

You are comparing a cabal skill with a class skill. The first is a bonus, the second is a fundamental skill to the class. While your class can function perfectly without your E skill, a berserker's whole skillset is centered around rage and haymaker. THEY HAVE NOTHING ELSE.

So it's not a fair comaprison. The one is a bonus, the other is the foundation of a class. The foundation skill, should, by default be more important and thus stronger. If you want to compare your E ability, compare it to Gladiator's E ability.

I'd take the Wm E skill over the savant one.. And the council one..
