Gleaming Vials from what I have seen do not evaporate ever, and if they do, it's a long time before they do. Sure it's expensive, but it's like level 40 sanc and lasts long enough you wont regret it if you don't have an ankh. You could possibly even have a DK try to extort it for you so you can have a lot larger yield of possible sources. If you get dispelled in combat eat a sparkling pill  so you get it up without fleeing and it prevents you from needing to flee in the event you're winning.

Any class that can use the ankh shouldn't ever bother with the glimmering stave.

Ankh and some sparkling pills and you are set.

Don't ever use a norem offhand weapon unless you REALLY have to.

The vials in blackwatch are OP if you can kill the gorgorak a couple times a month.  Made me feel much better about dualing malforms
