Bards, Crusaders, Blademasters [5/11/2015]

I dunno it kinda feels like I'm wielding a wet noodle against a brick wall with everything I do in melee. And for that matter it feels like none of the fancier stuff I try on other classes ever seems to really go my way either.

Is it just me or does anyone else in the "mid tier" let's say feel like there's been power creep over the past...I guess it would be a combination of player knowledge, some of the new items, and consumable stockpiling but it feels like some of the stuff I am throwing at people just gets shrugged off and last I remember (4~) years ago I should be doing something. Over a few classes, and with melee, magic, a wide range of spells and abilities.

I don't really have any PK logs to point to specifically, but hey, maybe I should keep some for once and see what I come up with...

I do think in every respect the game has gotten a LOT better, and I'd wager if I had been playing continuously for as long as some of the current PK ballers have been now I'd be more up on what it is I'm just not getting for whatever reason. However the notion of facing -700 to -800 AC, or even a -500 AC Ogre Ranger, really does terrify me I won't lie. Is 80/80 hit/dam the cool new thing now?

EDIT : I should add that I'm enjoying FL a lot more than I have in the past, and PK isn't the only part of the game by any stretch of the imagination. PvE is a lot of fun and RP is great too, lots of stuff you can do.

80 80 hr/dr is not something you will see on a lot of people / classes at all

Something solid to aim for most roughs / melees is 40/40 +.

Some cabals will also give you a nice big boost there.

Both bards and shield warriors have been fine-tuned over the last months, so submit logs and point out what you think would be an appropriate change if you wish to see something else changed.

I haven't got logs, but I think you should have a look into the change on blademasters. They are at the moment...weak as hell. I cannot go past the interns in the Offices with 50/45 hit dam...Seems ridicilous to me.

And yeah...I am not too skilled with a blademaster, but I know the basics....getting hit four times in a round and landing one hit just seems...overtweaked. It's like I have no defenses at all and I rarely hit. Maybe you overdid it there, Morlhach?

I will admit interns are OP, hard for any class I imagine. I think nearly 50% of my deaths are just from trying to get passed those interns.

Oooookay...You are all missing my point I guess. The post was not intended to show how powerful the interns are, but how gimped blademasters got...Never mind.

Just saying that decreasing the tac to one similar to other melees does not mean that a class is now underpowered. It will have a minor, yet balancing influence.

If you'd completely dominated the pbase with a blademaster pre change and now were getting tottally destroyed, this would mean that the change was really a too strong one. This is not the case as far as I have seen, thus logs are needed if you wish something done.

Blademasters are in no way, shape or form under-powered from the changes they received some time ago. Look at how strong Velkyn was. He was not necessarily a power house, but close to it. Shield warriors have been nerfed and then slightly buffed, I still have my arguements there, but it this here is not the place. Bards have supposedly been tweaked, but in many many eyes are still over powered by a lot. The way bards are, it seems no matter how I argue a nerf, they are almost screwed in total as a class. I will be coming up with logs hoping to get them further nerfed.

That's the same Velkyn that had -900 AC right?

As for bards, Ghrundor, you've played quite a few by this point. You should clearly know they are not what you claim them to be, especially after the (well deserved) nerf to their weapons and mods.

On blademasters - this is not a new change. We've had a few BLMs that did well after it, I wouldn't say they are gimped, but then, what do I know?

That being said, I think someone is looking for an excuse.
