Double Sheath, the misrepresented skill.

Double sheath, in its current form is not double sheath.

It is, "wield one weapon while sheathing another"

I would like to ressurect some old suggestions regarding this ability.

when you gain the double sheath skill you should be able to then sheath all of your weapons. Sheath primary should sheath whatever your wielding (two one handed weapons or one two handed weapon) in one set of sheaths, with sheath secondary doing the same in a second set of sheaths.

If attacked you will auto draw your primary sheaths weapons.

Draw primary will draw these weapons if not already drawn and switch from the drawn set to the primary if the secondary set happens to be wielded.

Draw secondary will draw these weapons, if not already drawn, and switch from the drawn set to the secondary if the primary set happens to be wielded.

Disarming the weapon in the main hand should switch the secondary to the first, if the final weapon your wielding is ever disarmed(be it a single two handed weapon or both of your one handed weapons) whatever sheathed set you still have will be drawn automatically.

I might have missed some details...though I think I flushed out the idea thats floated around a few previous threads.

to counter your belittlement I will add...

The current bug with autodraw when a weapon is disarmed causes this ability to be counter productive in battle. As it is currently, from the last itme I had it, if you are wielding two weapons....and the primary weapon is disarmed, and you have a two handed weapon sheathed. The autodraw tries to draw the weapon at the sam etime that you switch your secondary to the main hand, resulting in you automatically un-wielding both leaving you weaponless.

I remember having a trubunal BLM, and if I stay true to my lawfulness, then I have to doublesheath in battle. While this is possible, it takes valuable time. Meanwhile, the criminal I was chasing, had his other weapon sheathed the whole time. Its not as if this Idea will make BLM's more powerful. It will just allow them to use their skills without breaking the law.

And yes, I think that thing (which seems more like a bug) you described should be fixed, dunno about the first post though. As I said, I see it a small downside to a VERY useful skill.

so again, you belittle the problem with no actual contrary argument other than you "feel its a small downside". Some people, especially lawful characters who get penalized IC for wielding weapons in town, feel it is a huge downside that cripples their ability to use doube sheath at all.

can you at least tell us why it shouldnt be fixed? I mean, your debating against my proposal yet offer up no tangible reason why double sheath shouldnt act like well what its called...double sheath...

I for one would support this decision. And here is the BIGGEST reason why.

As a new BLM I was wandering around Val Miran and was asked to sheath by Vibbletick, I kept trying and it wouldn't let me. I kept telling him I was and he kept telling me to sheath. Well that led to a little rumble with me being tossed into jail, and I thought I hadn't broken the law at all. It took a kindly sovereign of the empire to convince me I had in fact broken the law.

Could have avoided all of that mess if I'd KNOWN that doublesheath was in fact doublesheath and not 'Super Dexterity at being able to sheath and draw at the same time skillness'

no, of course not.

not trying to increase the number of weapons, just make double sheath well...double sheath.

As far as wielding 2 weapons in pk with a 2hander sheathed and the disarm bit, I have always wanted for there to be a command that toggles on/off autodraw during pk just for that purpose.

another issue this will fix is having to remove a weapon (usually no drop) in order to use ANY held item.

Ninja doublesheath works differently, I can't remember exactly how but I'm pretty sure you can't actually doublesheath a weapon (or at least, it specifies you can only doublesheath exotics then I tried to doublesheath an exotic and it wouldn't let me) but it's there for autothrow.

May be wrong, been a while...
