Cleric is an excellent choice to start with. You won't have to gather consumables as much as a pure melee class. You'll always have food and water. Protective shield is nice, along with the ability to heal your wounds. Locate object and identify are a huge plus for a new player too.

I'm excited about it. Like hardcore. I'm not going to get too connected to him while still making it a story. I simply don't want to get attached to something that's going to just end up getting maimed. A lot.
