Kreyis the Sacrosanct Blade
625 PC
On Fiftday, the 35th of Nature, 625 PC, the god of the Forge, Wathok, completed his first true weapon. Kreyis, the Sacrosanct Blade of Aabahran, was made to fit the hands of all wielders and granted powers beyond most ordinary blades. As Wathok's purpose was to forge weapons and see them used, he sent his metal golem to grant the weapon to the mightiest champion.
The golem fell from the heavens and crashed into the Elemental Canyon. Many came to see what had happened. The Warmaster Yehivelid attacked the golem to claim the weapon first, though nobody understood why he did not simply ask. He felled the golem with some help from the elf Isadrian. Isadrian grasped Kreyis first. The two fought. Yehivelid fell. The blade chose the elf as its wielder.
The invoker tried to grant the blade a portion of his own power. Kreyis disapproved and reduced him to ash. The weapon passed to Merdien, who found all manner of creatures drawn to its power. Each wielder was beset by beasts both foul and divine. While Wathok was thrilled by this side effect, he eventually realized he had forged it too well. He reclaimed the blade to work on making it less perfect.
