The Threat of Lloth

1050 to 1197 PSC

Around 1050 PSC, rumors spread that Drow Priestesses were plotting to summon Lloth, the Spider Queen, into Aabahran. A Syndicate leader named Kaylia rose to power and used the organization's funds to build a Temple to Lloth. During a Race Relations Conference, Princess Orelinde was abducted.

The First Summoning

Brehan announced custody of Orelinde and publicly auctioned her. Banks across the empire were robbed. Logging machines appeared in Haon Dor, Ellium Forest, and the Emerald Forest. Yochlol and Drider spies spread throughout the lands. Rescue attempts failed. The Warmasters' siege on Xymerria was repelled.

Around 1150 PSC, Kaylia attempted to summon Lloth with the aid of Drow priestesses and Ahmenes. Valkynsra and Morgael tried to disrupt the ritual. An unknown element was introduced and the summoning went wrong. Instead of Lloth, the Queen of Swords entered Aabahran. The mortals present joined forces and destroyed her.

The Second Summoning

Around 1185 PSC, Kaylia tried again. Shyntril and Princess Orelinde were sacrificed in the ritual. Members of the Watchers, Knights, Tribunal, and Savants attempted to disrupt it. Once again, an unknown element was introduced. The summoning failed. The energies consumed and ravaged Kaylia. A vampiric spider entered Aabahran and was slain. The threat of Lloth was over.

Who or what introduced the disrupting element in both rituals remains one of Aabahran's unsolved mysteries.
