New Warrior Lore

For all you people who think warriors need buffs, here's something that occured to me that would be cool, if only because it sounds like a cool idea to me.

Available to staff and flail mastery:

Power Disarm

Syntax: Disarm

Using techniques known only to masters in the use of staffs and whips, a warrior following this path may attempt to disarm their opponents' weapon regardless of magical enchantments that may otherwise prevent disarmament. Additionally, the warrior is capable of sending the weapon flying farther than normal, causing it to land several feet away.

Basically, this skill would enable the warrior to disarm cursed weapons, and send them flying up to two rooms away in a random direction.

I like the idea a lot, but not for staffs.

I will ponder this with much pondering.

Well, I was just thinking because a staff provides the power, RPwise, to do something like that.

Another idea I had was whips, because it's an underused weapon and it also makes some RP sense. Or maces, for the power idea.

But basically, it would add a command to make SOMETHING available to a warrior in combat with a mage with a cursed weapon, other than kick.

I like the Idea too but staves are way too over used I think. Polearms, mace, and shield mastery I think would do it quite well.

You realize that, by selecting this lore, a warrior is giving up other skills of this caliber. Overpowered is a word that is tossed around a lot, without thinking about it. But when you consider it, doesn't it make sense that someone with a whip could latch onto a weapon, and chuck it a room or two away? Anyway, Behrens likes it, so I'm okay with it if you don't.

I'm down too. I like it, but don't have any ideas to add to this. I'll try and think of something. Whip, flail, and polearm seem to be the most viable options for it though. Staff, I can see, but yeah...thats too many staff bonuses...heh.

Well, you do realize half the pbase will start whining like babies when their weapons get flung all over the place for lowbies to pick up while they're in combat.

I would think that is a secondary concern, as it can still happen now anyways. And won't a good PKer have a secondary weapon too? I mean really. And only a single class doing it isn't too bad. Make it for Whips and Exotics perhaps.

I say don't give it to whips, though RP wise and everything elsewise it makes sense. Whips already have one hell of a sweet lore that is horrifically underused, in my expert opinion. Hell, Every warrior I've ever had (a good number of them very successful), when fighting against probably 80% of the classes in PK used whips and flails. Combine that fact with the beautimous lore that they can select with whips, combine that with certain cabals...I don't think I need to go on as to why whips don't need another sweet lore. Flails maybe..though I think spears could use some help, and daggers....

I'm not a fan of this idea. It sounds fun RP wise but disarming a cursed weapon is overpowered, because many classes rely on a cursed weapon and they are fodder without it. Imagine doing this to an Invoker, who relies a TON on a charged weapon.

I don't think warriors need a new selectable skill, as they need an overall change.

I propose riposte be MUCH more dex based, causing it to be like a second dodge for high dex races, halfling to the extreme making it better than dodge, but low str so low damage. 22 dex would make it equal to dodge. So it kinda fades away for giants, being a nice damage bonus every now and then.

I think the shield expertise lore should be inherent for every warrior maybe even the shield bash aswell.

Replace the shield expertise/shieldbash lores with an archery-type lore, allowing them to have greater accuracy/distance with bow and arrow but limit the types of bows/arrows they can use. Crossbows and guns maybe? Closer combat types.

I do like the skill, but it just seems a bit over-the-top to me, unless there was some sort of indicator saying which direction the weapon was flung in. Fighting a certain class right now that can disarm cursed weapons as if they were normal is already terrifying enough (I can only dread to think what they would do in a certain subcabal) without not knowing where the hell your weapon has gone. If the text string sent out was something like,

"Evangelion beats Deykari's weapon so hard it flies out of his hands northwards, but not because Evangelion is good at disarming, but because Deykari is the best PKer in FL and he let go of his weapon to give Evangelion a chance"

Then I like it. But still think it would be sort of overpowered. Maybe the chance of it kicking in not as much as say, a regular disarm?

i like this idea a lot, but i agree with it not being with staffs, it should definatly be for whips in my opinion because they are the most offensive weapon and best at disarming. and it should only throw regular weapons, no drop weapons should just be disarmed like normal and no remove weapons should just go into their inventory.

What if it was a disarm that automatically threw the weapon back at them, like the ranger skill. Imagine getting beat to death with your own weapon.

Well, I do believe before that we were talking about nodisarm weapons.... so the disarm part wouldn't work. And I really don't think throwing a weapon two rooms is fair, I'd rather see my weapon destroyed.

I don't like the idea. The weapon is cursed which means it cannot be removed by some simple means. Hence the cursed weapon. Normally a cursed weapon wouldn't be a good thing because it is cursed. But here it being cursed is not a bad thing since it cannot be removed from disarm and the like.

There are currently 3 ways to remove a noremove burnproof weapon.

Adding one more will hardly unbalance the game. The only question is if it will unbalance warriors specifically.
