You can't build up a "nest egg" of RP points for your characters by RP'ing out of character.  Very seriously doubt that the staff will allow that.  Sorry.

well, I know one of those characters just spent a butt-load of points last night... they can't refuse anything new, interesting and magical.

Won't be long before that character earns them back. Speaking of, well, speaking I guess... You've been keeping me waiting. Kinda miss the back and forth we had for a bit. For all the characters I've sort of fallen out of talking to often, really.

edit: Did I misunderstand, or can we change the name of the pets in the bazaar? So, if I wanted say, a tree sloth, or a magical puddle etc. could I rename the thing?

Menagerie pets cannot be adjusted. Unlike cabal pets they're called by an object and not as a spell. Of course, with enough RP points I'm sure you could request and buy a very unique pet of your own.
