Custom Affects list = AWESOME

Holy crap. Why didn't anyone tell me about this before?! Being able to create your own affects list is extremely useful. Someone needs to update a newbie essay that mentions this.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, type help affects. It will tell you how to create your own list of spells/skills and will really help you notice what spells you are missing.

It even shows when the spells are about to fall!

Just. Awesome.

It's really useful for cleric/bmg.

can you add it to your prompt?

I doubt it...check help prompt though.

..........

I'm not logged in just yet but I am so going to see what the hell you are talking about when I get logged in. If it's what I think it is, why have I never ever heard of it before?!

would be nice...to have the ability to designate the number of the custom affect as a prompt display like..

[1][4][6][4]

800/800hp 1000/1000m 450>n e w u>

that way you can have your real important timers on display.

Dey, you played Wymsi without the affects list? Oh my lord...

battlemage help file should have a line that says..

"READ HELP AFFECTS!!! NOW!!!"

I used the affects list, the standard one, with all the bless does x and x for x amount of hours.

I didn't know how to do the custom one though.

Dey

The custom one is where you make it so lets say you want to watch bless, sanctuary, protective shield, and protection, you put in all the stuff for it(giving 3 letter abbreviations to each spell) and type affect and youd see

where - means you don't have it up and the other numbers are normal hour links till it drops (also, when the hours for a spell drop to 1 or 0, it changes the color of the number). very cool

Edit: each of those numbers are sposed to be under a single affect, sorry bout that

I've been here HOW many years and never heard of that?

Oi!

macro the '3' on your numpad to 'aff'. just as easy.

I use triggers, buttons, and colors so I can just look at the top of my screen and see what spells are on and off easily.

I put them on the Zmud bar at the bottom, so that i dont have to look up.

Everytime i cast a protective spell it goes into the (satus) bar and stays there till it falls. And i have a Santuary counter associated with my tick so that i always know when its about to fall.

I got to tired of dieing to sermon lag + path just when my sant droped.

Never understanded how the new afects worked.

Anyone wish to make a FAQ thing with examples ?

yeah, i dl'ed zmud the other day..hard though after years and years of wintin heh

My first char to use it was a cleric I deleted a couple weeks ago. Never saw the point, but damn, it was useful.

Battlemage is about the only class I've ever found it extremely useful for.

And wow was it nice.

i really liked it for blademaster. I could keep all the crap out of the way and just look at the variable affects.
