I really feel that you should be able to choose which beast you get. It really stifles my rp if I want to rp a bird keeper, and I get the tiger form. Anyone else agree?

I agree. Just shuts down RP and ruins the race.
The only person in there that actually disagrees with the point of my post is Zhokril. The rest of the pbase is impartial (saying they just kept what they got) or agrees that you should not get a random beast.
Even if it is random, let us lower the level you get to transform. This improves leveling speed (beasts level quick transformed) and saves us time in trying to roll a specific beast.

Yep. Woulda rolled quite a few werebeast combos in the past. I may have envisioned myself as a cursed lycan/wolf/zerk or the solitary falcon druid. But always gave up from lack of interest because I didn't get the beast I wanted.
The "we don't cater to power gamers" is pretty lame IMHO. We offer a stat rolling system, and have a thread stickied with all the highest rolls you can get for each race/class combo.
We have Essays designed to give you a minor edge in pk. The entire point of a multiplayer game is to be the best. Best Rper, Best Pker, Best cheeky british drunk who buys livestock on Ebay. Anyone saying otherwise is just silly.

I still support this idea, werebeast is my favorite race, and I will still most likely play more werebeasts than anything else. But it would be nice to have my RP locked in at 1, for description and temperament purposes, rather than waiting until 15 to find out.

Early 20th century, until, well, after 1970, I believe it stopped being so. It's rather demeaning, though, still. I don't like being told I'm "silly" or something I do is "silly".

It's not power gaming. If you are going to say THAT is power gaming, then your perspectives are skewed. I could call out, at the minimum, 5 current characters that are "power gaming" to the extreme.
