Just isn't clicking is it. There are characters that regardless of doing everything correct as per imm, who spend crazy hours at waiting for the most basic promotion a character can every get. This is what I'm trying to prevent. I dint want handouts or.lower standards. I want to know what the standards are ffs. I've got 2 examples myself in the last year or so that total to around 425 hours of playtime where the imm stated I was deserving of the promo, but through carrying circumstances I did not get it. It wasn't a penalty for bad play, like breaking character to call someone ooc names, it wasn't a sense of entitlement. It was just a lapse in the system I slipped through. If its happened to me, then its happened to others. The only thing this suggestion is meant to do is to create a system where deserving characters are recognized for their efforts. Changing requirements to have vastly different promotion standards between twi chars in the same sub cabal without anyone knowing is a recipe for players feeling neglected. When players know beyond a doubt what is required of them, they perform better.
Standards for cabal promotions
As far as telling me what to do for promos.
You will never find a player that can say I'm scared to fight. You will never find someone who says I don't rp. You will never find someone that can say my cabal chars aren't making a real effort at politics, and promoting the cabal idealogy. Seviks was a slith ninja with 100s of rp points, I was involved in both sides of several plots and every E and K in the game at the time. What I'm saying is the system in place DOES have flaws, and why would you not address then if possible. Keeping things secret is bad for the game, there has been more changes since the code release than ever before in the same time. You are essentially saying you are fine with people getting no advancement for their effort, because you got some. This proposal is literally to make imms private thoughts for promotion requirements public information.

I'll put it out there, if anyone is unsure and is uncomfortable asking their imm directly. Let me know and I will run point on your behalf. Hit me in PM or Dsicord.
That right there is awesome! I know of several people who don't want to ask for things directly because they feel like their 'pushing' their Imm to do something. Thank you for that consideration.

I agree - I very reluctantly made a forum account here for this very reason. I wasn't sure if I was barking up the wrong tree with my RP, or if it was just bad timing, etc. I have a feeling it was a mix of both, I suppose 😁 While I was very curious and at times frustrated, I really resist asking for anything OOC. It's pretty easy to think your RP is big, bold and beautiful when you are the one obsessing over it - so I thought, "Hey, if they can't recognize what I'm doing, to hell with it!" Of course, probably not the reality of things. People are busy and everyone is the star in their RP and expecting attention.
My biggest feedback isn't that I wanted or needed a standard set of things to do, though. What I craved was being thrown a bone and getting a little buy in from immortals on what I was up to. Having that fold into my personal goals for cabal promo and tied to the greater cabal goals, etc. I spent mostly all the time before and after qrace app without even a quirky emote from an immortal. I had no idea if they thought what I was doing was garbage, great, or didn't care.
I also really didn't want to run to a forum and have OOC conversations about my character. I wanted to have them IC, in game, and, ya know...have fun with it!
Long story short, a few words here and there just to acknowledge what you're doing goes a long way.

Appreciate your candour.
I personally sometimes find it hard to interact with mortals as in so pigeon holed in my Imm char. I’ll figure out a way around that....

Cry me a river. 😜
Lloth, you probably find it hard to interact with mortals bc every time you do, we peasants are left staring at the screen in awe trying to decide if what we read really just happened and if so, how the hell to react ;)
Sure, let's go with that.
I don't ever have this problem. None of my characters lasts long enough. So, that could be a solution as well. I'm just saying.
